Dry Stone Route
Protected by the Sierra de Tramuntana and its summits of more than 1000m of altitude, crowned by Puig Major and its 1445m. The Sierra de Tramuntana offers an extensive network of perfectly marked trails and paths, the famous route GR221.
The route GR221, which proposes to enjoy the landscapes of “dry stone”, admire its flora and wild fauna and visit interesting historical remains, while discovering its myths, legends and traditions.
The traditional construction technique of “dry stone” has recently been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
Famous for its citrus fruit, introduced by the Arabs during the tenth century, and its fish and seafood, Sóller has managed to develop a great culinary offer perfectly combining the sea and the mountain.
The excellent road network of the island, make Sóller the ideal base to explore not only Palma, capital of Mallorca, but also the rest of the island and its fantastic beaches.
Mallorca is considered the mecca of European cycling. The practice of this sport is ideal in Mallorca because of its warm climate in Autumn, Winter and Spring, the abundance of great landscapes and its well-paved roads.
Many of the most popular routes begin or pass through Sóller.
The valley of Sóller in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, is the ideal starting point for the most spectacular excursions in Mallorca.

Cultural visits and museums
